I'm not much of a Kickstarter fan but I did back this one. These look to be pretty interesting rules in a nice hardback format for much less than what you would pay to the big wargame companies.

They have already hit their goal so you're basically just pre-ordering a nice hardback book at this point.

Not much of a medieval player but that's a super good deal.

Good deal if you don't use Cavalry or Warmachines in your armies (or magic or monsters for that matter) as those rule sections are awaiting "supplements" and "expansions".

Several web reviews of these rules point to how incomplete they are at this stage and feeling seems to be this KS is too soon.

To be fair Open Combat does have rules for Cavalry. Also, Warmachines are a bit out of the scope of warband skirmish rules like these.

I won't rehash my full experience with these rules again here. Suffice it to say, I like the core mechanics but I do share some of the sentiments regarding "too-soon" for a printed edition. Still it looks like enough folks disagree with me for the KS is doing pretty well.

I like the rules quite a bit and am happy that the KS is both successful and bringing the system more exposure overall. I have the PDF and that's fine with me for now.

I also like the fact that they plan on letting those of us with the PDF get their hands on whatever updates they do to between now and publication for free.
