Hey folks, I am considering playing cold war or modern conflict in 10mm scale and I am looking for a rule set, I prefer to have 1 tank figure equal 1 tank but most importantly simple and fun. Any suggestions? P.S. Oh how times have changed, I now have to separate cold war period with modern period. |

Cold War Commander could well be worth a look, but I must admit I'm another one looking forward to seeing Toofatlardies take on it. |

I have a similar interest, a couple of ideas that can be adapted to cold war / moderns at the scale you specify and satisfy simple and fun criteria – plus are freely available: FUBAR – link Epic 40k – net-armageddon.org |

Cold War Commander has worked for me. |

Just a quick note on Cold War Commander, the pdf of the rules is currently unavailable, but you can buy a printed copy through the Lulu print-on-demand service here: link We'll be starting to work on the rules towards summer, with a view to a new print run of BKC first, towards the end of this year. CWC will follow on after that. |

How many gits are you looking to have on the table? If I may self-promote a bit, FiveCore Company Commander fits the scale (each stand is a squad or individual tank). As the name implies, a typical game is about company sized and plays in about an hour. It works for ww2 and cold war without much fuss. Includes scenario generator, tools for solo gamers and you can even generator a fictional war. If you are curious about how the game plays, the good Jack ran a long campaign using them, one of the AAR's are here: link |

We are definitely 1 tank = 1 tank but bases of 2 to 4 typicaly for figures. Max game size is realy a full company battlegroup and even that is a bit big if its a full mech infantry group. Its IGOUGO (love it or hate it). We play 1:144 using these rules but it works fine at 1/72 for smaller games. Being IGO UGO its not really a multi player game. Rules are simple the game may not be. As its a game about the reals world there is no points system as they don't work in the real world the terrain is too varied. Thre are army lists but you can make your own and you can draw up all the vehicle stats without buying the lists. We are MG. link |

What level of command do you want to run? |

I am sorry, what does level of command mean? |
Risaldar Singh | 19 Mar 2015 12:30 p.m. PST |
It means : how big a force do you want to field on either side ? In other words, do you want to play being a platoon commander, company commander or battalion commander ? |

'Sabresquadron – Fin Stabilised' will be released in July, covering the Cold War to the Digital Age at company level 1:1. Successfuly played at 15mm and 6mm, 10mm would be ideal! The trial rules introducing the basic ideas are available free at: sabresquadron.com/index.html |

Company per side (or at least player in charge of a company)? Heck, you could probably even play with Dirtside II from Ground Zero Games (free to download!). Just leave the lasers, railguns, and plasma cannon out of the game! If you play Flames of War, Battlefront is supposed to be working on a Cold War Gone Hot version this year. |

The SabreSquadron battle reports do look intriguing, as do those of I Ain't Been Shot Mum. |
