Just tried to buy my advance tickets for Salute, which had been a painless process for the last few years at least using Paypal. However things seem to have changed with a new payment engine which seems to want details such as date of birth before you can proceed. What gives?

The system has problems. I bought my e-ticket but it wouldn't print no matter what I tried. I emailed the Warlords to ask for assistance or advice as to what to do – several weeks later I'm still waiting for a response from them…

However, I'm pleased to write that the e-ticket people have resolved the issue for me.

Timmo – I bailed out at the enter your DoB question so still haven't bought mine. I didn't see why that was relevant to a one-off online purchase and wondered what else I'd have to tell them if I went further.

I assume the change is down to Paypal charges, but the previous system worked very well and was less irritating to boot.

I certainly agree compared to how easy buying on line can be it was more painful than it needed to be. However, since it's only you and I posting here it looks like hundreds, if not thousands of others haven't had any problem.

The surprise for me this year was the drop in price of the advanced tickets and the very significant increase in price for the on-the-day fee.

I've just seen that the final day to buy advanced tickets for Salute has been posted as the 23rd April at 6pm. After that, the only way to get into the show is by paying £15.00 GBP,cash only) on the door……..so worth saving a fiver I reckon………and, with an advanced ticket, you get a chance to find the cash prize ticket in your Salute carrier bag!……….no brainer really!
