I just received a number of 1/72 WW2 aircraft kits, but with the exception of the Airfix kit none of them had any aircrew. Can anyone suggest where I can get some pilot figures for these? |

For pilots IN the aircraft, go with Preiser. They also have pilots outside the craft and ground crew. Tends to be limited to German and maybe American. I think Tamiya also makes pilots - a five pack of German, Japanese, American & British. But I've only seen a package that has them standing. Wyatt |

If you want ground crew and pilots outside the aircraft the only way to go is the old Airfix RAF, USAAF and Luftwaffe sets, every pose you could want and a few more. |

This has just become an issue for me too, as I just got back into building 1/72 model airplanes. I had wanted to build them as in flight, and place them (for display) of flight stands. That way I could use them for gaming later if I ever decided to do 1/72 air combat instead of just 1/300. However, a plane in flight really needs a pilot, and almost none of the kits come with figures. There are a few sets of pilot figures available, but they all seem to be standing. I'm amazed nobody makes seated air crew figs for in the cockpit in this scale. Doug |
