I had a couple dozen of them I bought years ago. I never had any of them rearing up like the one in the auction though. I just had the same two poses repeated. Unreleased? I don't know. But that is the first time I have ever seen it. I still wouldn't have paid $60 USD for it though either. Value is completely in the eye of the buyer. |

I'm pretty sure I got mine just like this one in a regular blister pack from GW at the time. |

you should see if you could get 6 of them. you know if you buy 2 or 3 you would "need" more. Kidding. I did not click the link as I do not need to even see it. It may not be worth 60 to you but it is to the bloke that wins and pays that much. I was no help. |

I do not think it would be would $60 USD if it were gold plated. |

I'm not familiar with Mordheim figures, but there are such things as unreleased GW/Citadel sculpts. For example, I have an unreleased "3-up" chaos BFG cruiser. It is a metal casting of the triple-sized master used to pantograph the mold for the plastic cruisers. GW cast some and gave them to staff members as a goodie. I got one from a former GW employee. The collecting Citadel minis wikia lists some known unreleased sculpts. Some were made during playtesting, but then ultimately were not released, such as the metal MkI Warlord Titans seen in the Adeptus Titanicus rule book. One of those came up for sale a year ago, and went for over $1,000. USD If this is such a sculpt, then the bidding price is in line with what I've seen collectors pay for other rare stuff. |

I sold an unreleased GW Epic Psi-Titan last year for around $350. USD A buddy of mine bought it for me somewhere around 1993 after a Mail Order Troll in the UK offered him a test casting. They never did rules for it. I used the dough to buy a bunch more 20mm resin buildings so it was a good trade! |

I'm with Doctor X. I have a couple of those, and they both came in blisters bought in my FLGS. Rare? Maybe, but definitely released. |

They used to offer test castings when you rang mail order. I got several unreleased Mechanicus and Necromunda bits that way and picked up others over the years. What GW thought was a pre-release to clear a test run turned into an unreleased miniature as for whatever reason they never went for a full on release. They've also stuck uncatalogued stuff in blisters and Europe/UK/US have had different items released over the years, so it's possible they came out in US blisters but not UK or Europe. SoL has the UK catalogues so it might be worth a look in the US "monster" catalogue or the Mordheim collector's guide. You've got to assume that whoever paid that sort of money knew what they were bidding on and wanted it in their collection. |

That particular warhound was never released either in the US or UK. The only 2 warhounds that saw release were: 110202701 – 3 legs on the ground, front right paw raised. 110202702 – All 4 legs on the ground, slightly leaning forwards. |
