Check out my My Mars Attacks Big Robots and UFOs. These are all from the game but one of the robots is a Mars Attacks toy with elongated legs and a miniature from the game driving it. Enjoy: link

Can someone post my Flickr link for this to the Mantic Games Facebook page? I don't have a Facebook page so I can not do it. Cheers, Mike |

Hi Android--it's all looking good. Are the robots from Mantic games? For some reason I'm not seeing them on the site! |

I'm looking at the page and it appears that the post goes to a little link at the bottom left and without the images, although the link is included. I did my best… |

Wow, love those robots! Any chance of a small tutorial, both for the paint job and the freeze ray icicles? |
The Black Android | 16 Mar 2015 7:19 p.m. PST |
Ice: The freeze ray icicles are cut clear plastic toy packages with Mod Podge built up over the top. This is the best way to do miniature icicles. You need to significantly build up the layers with multiple coats of Mod Podge. Let each layer dry or you will get undried layers and it looks bad. Take time to cut your ice. Clean sharp cuts look best. If you heat the plastic to bend it, it looks bad if you burn it because it is all transparent. My painting is all done with the following: Wash parts with Dawn to degrease Base under coat/prime white Base color base coat Dark color wash (Acrylic paint mixed to same consistency as 2% milk poured or brushed over model) Dry Brush high light with lite color that is liter then the base Dry Brush White for final high lights… not too much or it will look chalky Pic out details with a 000 brush Varnish bug/robot eyes and glue clear helmets/domes on with varnish. Base with sand mixed with gray paint. Wash Base in black wash Dry brush base with white Clean up edge of base Let dry over night Spray with clear mate fixative |

Excellent, thanks! I had never even heard of Mod Podge, but apparently it is sold in my local handycraft store. Time to have look at if for future Winter War project as well. |

These are excellent. I'm trying to do this in 15mm. Very inspirational. Thank you for posting. |

I had never even heard of Mod Podge, Helps to have a crafting lady in the house. Usually used to glue, then seal, some kitsch picture to a wood or card surface. This usage completely blows my mind. ;->= Doug |

Yep Doug, that's how I came to know about it. My mom did that sort of craft back in the late 70's and we had these pictures like you talk about all over my house in the early 80's. When I asked about them she told me she used Mod Podge. This in my opinion as a pro model maker and Art Teacher is the best way to make cheep miniature ice. |
