Hi Dan,

I like the finish you have on the vehicles, but one thing jars for me. The mud that is liberally applied to the running gear and the (top – really?) of the mudguards is a different colour to the visible soil colour of the vehicle bases. I know that "they could have picked up that mud in an adjacent field", but it doesn't look right to me.

I'm dubious about that much mud being on top of the front mudguards because I haven't seen any photos of the real vehicle looking like that. If you can link to any corroborating photos then I'd love to see them

Thanks for posting. Unfortunately (for you) I don't do Farcebook.

These vehicles were finished a couple months ago and at that time I was still developing the mud technique that I have since improved. I tended towards a thicker application of mud as I was not entirely happy with the casting quality on the running gear and wanted something to hide this. I do agree that the colour of the mud does not quite match that of the base and is something I plan on correcting (probably with a wash or similar).

Thanks for your interest!
