I'm painting an early American cabin made of wood planking. It's a resin cast piece from JR or somebody. Anyway, I used a color called Smoke Gray, which dried to a lovely blue/gray. Now I need a wash to run in the cracks to accent the planking.
So what color washes would work best with blue/gray?
I paintd the roof brown with a redish tint.
Highlight color?
Weathering colors?

I'm bored of the wood grain and cream, white, blue or green buildings that I already have.
What would make this pop?

It's almost easier to paint the whole thing the dark colour and then dry-brush the smoke gray. If you are using craft paints I am not sure that they would dilute well

I would probably wash black, otherwise there may not be enough contrast to the wood

Payne's grey wash is another option

Secret weapon have a blue/black wash – that might work

You will probably want to drybrush some blue grey back, and then a light drybrush of a lighter colour, or even white
