Do we're all sitting around a while back talking. I laughed that the very first thing I bought for my very first Flsmes of War army was two packs of Battlefront Bofors 40mm AA guns for my Desert Rats. I have used them maybe twice. I was commenting about how many tiny metal parts it had. Another guy commented "Heck, you should try the Command Decision ones!" Which was immediately followed by "You think THOSE are bad? Try ….." So the question on the table is …. Does anyone make one without so darn many tiny parts? (The sights fell off mine and I have never bothered to replace them. ) |

I could let you have some of the easy assemble Airfix ones…
they go together so easy…for a sturdy, durable and hugely accurate model. (although seeing the silly prices on ebay for ones the same age that I have sitting unnmade – and quite unloved – in the cupboard, perhaps I should unload them there. Consider that earlier offer as a non-binding statement made in the service solely of humour!) |

The Zvezda one is pretty easy |

The GHQ ones (I think they are GHQ, but could be Scotia, or Navwar too) are quite nice, and come pre-assembled. Of course, since you mention Battlefront, they are perhaps a bit small for your needs. |

If you thought the FOW ones were difficult, you have not even seen the one from Quality Castings! |

WS, I agree with you. The FOW Bofors are awful models and needed a lot of carving to even fit the platform on properly. I found the same with their 50mm Pak 38's. |

Depends on scale, Oxford diecast do an assembled 1/76th one, along with Dingos and a few other bits. |

Depends on period of ww2., Airfix fine for early i.e 1939- 1942; Zveszda and Oxford for later, post 1943 to end of war.Problem is that Zveszda have early war crew with chest gas mask pack prominent. IMHO, Oxford by far best as out-riggers are loose and can be modelled in all configurations, i.e travel position to static, also gun elevates, and rubber wheels turn and subtle use of craft knive can get gun barrel clamp to work. Plus Oxford much more robust, and cheaper !! |
