Anyone using Sedition War stuff with other rules or modify the rules?

I've heard of some folks using the aliens/infected minis as Plague in Deadzone.

I'm using the vanguard as space troopers in several games…

Need some more of the clear "invisible" ones from the "lights out" set

I've toyed with modifying the rules but eventually decided it's not worth the bother. I'll only get grief from trying to introduce them in the group at the end of days and days of work.

I'm planning on doing what BigNickR does with the Vanguard and the less obviously techzombie Strain.

I've a company of Vanguard built (four boxes + extras) with the Mantic corporation marines and rangers providing a recon and engineer platoon…..now I've just got to paint them up.

The Strain's waiting to be built, I just need to buy some troops to represent my stage one infections, which I'm thinking my be the mantic zombies, the offical strain stage one will become stage twos.

As others have said,
Strain- make good Deadzone plague. My buddy actually paintedup both sets of figs the same: link

Vanguard- Deadzone Enforcers are the most obvious choice, but other options exist as well. The style is similar enough that you could proxy them for Infinity. I'm painting up 3 boxes worth of Vanguard to be used in games like Tomorrow's war and other sci-fi skrimishes as my "Maersk Tesla Asset Protection" forces.

Once you get past the annoying restic cleanup which is quite lengthy, they really are the best deal in sci-fi figs. The sculpts are really very nice. Where else are you going to find 50 figs and 50 nice scenic bases for $28 USD (Amazon price). After my first box that I split with a friend, on the next two boxes I managed to keep the Vanugard and all bases and then part out the rest and break even!

On a side note if you have a few figures spare, the Wargames Factory WW2 and modern survivors provide alternative heads and unarmoured arms (and modern/WW2 weapons)….a good source of alternative armoured arms is the Dreamforge Stormtrooper accessory set (the heads are to large but the arms are fine).

The Mantic Corporation are the closest in size of the multi part figures and I've used the pistol and power glove from these to make up my Vanguard platoon commanders.

I will use the Vanguard as proxies for PanOceania for Infinity.

EotN,
Thanks for the head swap suggesiton. I was considering a few head swaps and it's good to know that WGF historicals are a good option.
