Squadron Strike: Traveller will fully support both 2D and 3D play. All of the ships will come in 2D and 3D versions.

Seven tutorial scenarios ease you into the rules, starting with a 2D single-ship duel that shows you all of the moves for the first part of the game, so that you can practice the basics and make sure that you're doing everything correctly. Scenarios 2 and 3 stay in 2D, letting you learn about different weapon types and practice maneuvering in 2D to get comfortable with vectors. Scenario 4 carefully takes you into 3D! (You can still play any scenario in 2D if you really, really don't want to give 3D a whirl.)

Scenario 5 expands the 3D rules slightly and introduces a handful of additional weapon traits. Scenario 6 puts the big ships on the table, and Scenario 7 is a Zhodani carrier strike! All of these provide an easy transition for your group into vector movement, and then into 3D.

Have fun!

Excellent. I was about to say that it's Squadron Strike, it dang well BETTER have 3D as an option!

I should poke one of the dinosaurs in my gaming group, see if he wants to throw down on a Traveller game.

It will definitely help you run more ships for larger actions.

I will watch games when they are run at the local con. Nada mas.

I have no desire for 3D games whether aerial, aquatic, or space.

Traveller rules/figures/etc., was sold off decades ago and I have no plans to replace them.

That was the past, I dwell in the present.

That said, I hope you do well/make a profit/create fun.

Then have we got a deal for you!

Squadron Strike lets you design pretty well any ship you can imagine, whether your own creation or based on a book, RPG, TV show, movies, or other game, and play in 2D. The ship design spreadsheet produces professional-quality ship sheets. Here's one from Jeffro's Space Gaming blog*:

That's not something laid out by hand: that's just what the software produces.

We believe that this is the present of gaming: tremendous flexibility.
