I first thought the eyes were too big, but then realised that they were the "thousand yard stare" of exhausted veterans ….

To get rid of that 'I've just been goosed' look you need to make the top and bottom eyelids touch the iris, so that there is no white above or below it. Otherwise you end up with a Marty Feldman Battalion.
Excellent paint job otherwise

I did consider retouching the eyes, but at actual size you can't really tell, and the detail on the plastic figures isn't that deep, so it's a bit of guesswork where to place the eyes. always a bit of a dilemma as to whether to do them or not!

I have not seen your work before but am impressed with your painting skills . My only comment would be that it looks like a brand new carrier that just come off the parade ground and been driven down a muddy track rather than an accumulation of dust you get on a campaign . Good job all the same .
