I'm painting some 13th centaury knights for the Northern Crusades (Swedes, Hanseatic states, Knights Tuetonic) and I was wondering about their capes. Would the capes be in matching colours with the surtout? Would the capes display heraldic devices? thank you |

Glengarry, the capes could be any colour some would match the surcoat I suggest, the Teutonic's would wear the colour prescribed for rank, some capes may have a small heraldic badge over the breast. Not much information on capes that I have come accross |
