I want full dress, Perry only make campaign dress for Grenadiers a Cheval and Chasseurs a Cheval. This makes me sad. Are there any other options that have some variety in pose and would fit well with other Perry figures? Thanks!

Foundry, sculpted by the Perry's are pretty much the same size.

Front Rank make excellent full dress Guard, but would be a little heftier. In different units, it would not matter that much.

Front Rank, at least for the "Grosses Bottes", would probably not look too out of place.

I've found Foundry Perrys to be quite a bit shorter than the Perrys' Perrys, so best to get a sample first!

Another option for the Chasseurs à Cheval might be to convert Perry plastic hussars (mainly the horse furniture)?

If you want to get complicated, the "campaign dress" of the Perry Minis seems to be not 100% right. I´ve read recently that the Chasseurs a Cheval should wear their long tailed habit-coat with aiguiletes (take a look at the latest Osprey MAA about the Chasseurs), and the Grenadiers a Cheval should wear their long tailed and lapelled service habit-coat (not surtout): the cut looks exactly like the full dress habit-coat, but some color is changed.

Hmm thanks for the information everyone. Sounds like I might not have too many options then as I expected.

Oh, how I sympathise with this request…….

Grenadiers and Dragoons of the Guard look infinitely better in the cut away coat, waistcoat exposed, white lapels. Strong evidence for dragoons wearing that, in 1815 anyway. Gendarmes d'Elite…do not get me started…I am just so glad to see them from Perrys and soon from Gringos, that I will not complain about the surtout.

The Chasseurs a Cheval, in the habit coat, rather than exclusively the dolman, is something I have suggested for ages, as right for 1815…..for some of them. No idea where I got that idea though (was it Haythornthwaite, Uniforms of Waterloo?). They could also double as HA of the Guard, mounted!

Front Rank do fat folk in what you seek, beautiful castings though. Elite are too well animated…all watching for Stukas, but great choice of outfits. Foundry can be a bit titchy these days…but you need to select carefully.

The pre Bardin cutaway lapelled coat is almost universal in pre 1812/13 French medium and heavy cavalry…and many an allied nation too. What a project for plastics!

The Foundry castings are lovely, although a bit smaller than Perry – the Guard Chasseurs and Grenadiers a Cheval, Empress Dragoons, and Dutch and Polish Lancers on my blog are all Foundry – not any pose variations there, but still lovely figures:

Thanks for comments Liam and Peter.
Have some Foundry and found them a bit small unfortunately. Shame as they looks stunning painted up.
