We're into March which of course means the most important new thing on the Solo Wargamers Association's Lone Warrior blog is a new sample article. An Alternative Variation by Terry Preen first appeared in issue 139 of Lone Warrior PDF link and it gives a system which aims to "allow more efficient or lucky commanders to move and conduct combat more regularly than their more cumbersome (or unlucky) enemies or allies". It can be bolted onto almost any rule set, and takes almost no effort to run! Looks worth trying. Jonathan Aird reviews a couple of diecast vehicles – concluding that maybe the batcopter PDF link should have been kept "mint in box" but that the Oshkosh M-ATV is darn perfect for immediate ghaming PDF link . Paul Le Long gives a thumbnail review of Osprey Elite 160 World War II Infantry Assault Tactics PDF link , finding it a must read for WWII gamers and Rob Morgan gives an in-depth review (with model recommendations as well) of New Vanguard 132 Ancient Greek Warship 500-322 BC PDF link which also sounds well worth getting your hands on ! That's the early Spring crop – more to come ! |
