Is there anyone out there who has a scenario and map for doing Waterloo with CLS, that is 1:20 ratio armies. I know Fred was close to doing this in 1971-2 but I lost track of his activities by then. Thanks |

Greetings from Indiana. I still game with the group in Central Indiana that dates back to that time. I know that Fred was part of that group (or should we say that the group was part of Fred!). One of the founding members has records dating back to that time but she recently passed. I think we kept the records so I will try to find them and pull all Waterloo scenarios and then respond. It will probably be next week since I think and hope that we have the records but they are located at another location i.e. not my house. We still use modified CLS but this is our last year and we are moving on to General de Brigade. Onwards and upwards! |

Bobgnar, we found some AAR reports from Waterloo in 1971 but no OOBs and not enough detail in the AAR to make much of it. Not sure if Fred was involved in this or not. We, as a group, then gamed Waterloo in the late 1980's using 1:20 and CLS. I was part of putting that together. I will find those OOB but I did not immediately go to that option because, candidly, in hindsight I think we did some things wrong -- meaning we may have tried to establish historical OOBs but I recall that after all of the effort we had some less than satisfying results -- too much artillery and some other "errors." |
