Hi, I've decided to do a early WWII era pulp project (allows me to use some of my 20mm WWII soft skins and scenics). It will be in the Port of Marsailles. I'm going to use the Force 20 Miniatures figures -Dockworkers pack 1, the G-men and Spies pack 2, and when it comes out the Smugglers pack 9. I have a few Elhiem figures that will also fit in. There are some HO railroad buildings in my stash that will work but I'm really looking for more buildings that would fit in with the scenario. Resin or plastic doesn't matter to me. Anybody have suggestions? Thanks, Robert |

Don't forget a nice Freighter- perhaps scratch built in that scale, big but worth it |

It is a warm Mediterranean port, so building wise I would look for anything marketed as Spanish or Italian. That means anyone who supplies to the markets: Spanish Civil War Napoleonic Spanish Campaign Italian front WW2 Here in the UK I use Timecast (High quality) and The Square wargaming (Bangs per buck). Both are more rural but would suit the outskirts and more rundown/less redeveloped parts of town. Frontline Wargaming has a Fiat 621 truck which I also understand was made under license by Simca in France. 2 or 3 of those would help set the scene. |

Italeri do nice plastic, and there's a good range of battle-damaged 1/76 Airfix resiny type thing now. I use them for Martian Invasion, easy painting predicated on the Martians having done a preliminary bombardment [ergo everything's a bit black and wrecked]. |

Lots of terracotta tile roofs for many buildings. That's what I remember about the Cote d'Azur from our field trip to France in 1975, and most of the buildings were MUCH older than 35 years old at that point. |

Hello Moreminimen If you want a quick and cheap Mediterranean industrial area you could also look at print-your-own card models. The Spanish buildings from Edificios De Papel would really suit.
Look here link or link Or here is a French site with Pepakura-ed Sketch-up models of French buidlings:- link Cheers GrumpyOldMan |
