You need good preventive maintenance, but you can have your armor running. We were relocating 60+ machines at below -30C…I think only one out of 60 didn't start, and was left in the depot. Also, arctic and antartic expeditions were using tracked vehicles for dozens of years… Famous snowcats come to mind: link |

You might need to do some special prep work (low-temperature lubricants, mostly), but tracked vehicles work just fine in the snow. You may want to make some special double-width snow tracks, but that's not required. |
