Song of Blades & Heroes would probably work better. While it is a fantasy game, you could easily stat up sci fi monsters instead. Just say blasters are magic or a Bow with a Area Blast ability. & with all of the SBH's supplements, you have a wide range of special skills to choose from to tailor your daleks, cybermen, & menoptra. Song of Mutants & Death Rays doesn't treat firearms much differently than SBH. If you want something more realistic, try Ganesha's Flying Lead which is for WW2 & modern combat. |

I think the best rules for Dr Who are either Dr Who, the Miniatures Game (and you can't beat the price!): drwhominiatures.co.uk or it' successor 7TV: link |

I did try a game of Dr Who\MDRG a few years ago. It worked OK: link Gun ranges were slightly short, but given that most shots have to fit on a 1970's TV screen it isn't a big problem. I'd say its not the ideal ruleset, but if you are looking for a quick game, already have the rules and don't want to learn\buy a new ruleset worth a go. We certainly had fun. |

You might consider Fear & Faith with some rules stolen from MDRG for the high tech stuff. FF has a "Scooby Gang" vibe that could work well for DW. |
