Possibly like lots of people, I've had the Italeri church on a shelf for some time, unpainted. Not because it isn't a nice model, but because it's so big I've not really thought I would actually use it. But given I'll only use it once it's painted, I thought I'd better get on with it at last. Pictures at: wipeoutwargames.com/blog if the following doesn't work: link Now I wouldn't consider myself a good painter by any means, but I'm fairly pleased with this. Many thanks above all to others who provided me with some of the inspiration e.g. miniaturezone.com. If anyone does have hints at how to improve, then that would be great – not sure I've quite got the hang of dry brushing in a consistent way! |

I would consider you a good painter. Nice work. |

Very nice. Does the base come with the kit? I am working on the old airfoil kit church, mainly because it is relatively small, but the Italeri one looks more impressive. |

Thanks, chaps. Normsmith, Yes, the base comes as part of the pack and is good and solid. |

Wipeout, nice work on a big model. Drybrushing a large model can be challenging. One technique I find effective is to go over drybrushed areas, like the roof, with a thin wash of the base colour or a darker tone to "tie" it all together better. I enjoyed your blog, too. Thanks for sharing. |

I have seen a rather nice conversion by (I think) Colin Rumford which cut it down nicley to fit on a normal sized table. |

I like it, very nice! How big is it exactly? |

Thanks again, all. Including the base, it's 31cm long, just over 19cm wide and the tower is 23cm high. |

How does it scale to 15mm? Is it usable or way too big |

the church is massive. I game in 1/72 and might sell mine. The thing is huge unless you plan to modify it. The doors would work for 15mm though |
