As long as the Iranian-backed shiite militias take the lead in retaking Iraq from Daesh, Iraq will continue to be controlled by Iran and sunnis will continue to be marginalized.

It'll be back to round one since shiite dominance of Iraq was what created Daesh in the first place. Dubya's mistake in 2003 can't be undone.

Agreed. Just wait til they start to "cleanse" the towns they take from their "Daesh" (i.e., Sunni) influence.

It would seem to be a cake-walk, with a 20:1 superiority in troops plus indescriminate use of artillery.

On the other hand, ISIS has won here twice before.

The Iranian towed artillery park looked ripe for a mobile raid from ISIS forces…

I saw one M1 tank on video, as well as various Hummers with turrets.

Hopefully there will no sectarian cleansing save for the members of Daesh …
