Was the uniform used by the US paratroopers in the pacific during 1943-45 similar in appearance and colour shade (IE a kind of brown) to those used in the Europe and the Mediterranean? |

Great answer, Tach. My father-in-law, Harold Bishop, was in the 11th Airborne in the PTO. We have his boots, they are just like all paratroopers boots. A few photos (B&W) of Hal on the left side of the page towards the bottom, he looks to be wearing a typical paratrooper jacket & pants. I think he told me they were pretty much outfitted as regular ETO paras. At least that's what I think I remember. You can see in the photos, especially the last one, that some of the pants appear to be darker than others. Hope this helps. Peter LINK: link |

Yup, that's the M42 Jumpsuit alright. The difference is, in the Phillipines, I seriously doubt they would be wearing it over wool! |

And as for the actual colour of the M42, well, we are back to that ever popular topic of "what colour is Olive drab". |

Hey. My grandfather was with B company, 511th PIR. What unit was he with? |
