Thinking of getting into the period,
scenarios and figures look awesome.
Do the VBCW books give enough background info?
And book suggestions for getting a good background on the
period?

Yes the books are pretty good – they're written by the players.

I would suggest coming over to The Very Civil Forum and have a look and get specific links and advice.

Watch the Ian McKellan movie version of Richard III. This was the key inspiration for the authors to create the VBCW concept.
