Cool app. I am already at Cold War is, having arrived yesterday late in the afternoon and a window of above freezing temperatures from Dayton Ohio. But I will keep this for the future. Thanks. Tom |

Tom, So does it look like things will continue mostly as planned? I was to depart this morning, but I'm coming from the South through DC and Baltimore. Roads look bad, so I will try to depart tomorrow. Mark |

Just arrived at the Host driving up from BWI. Not an easy or fast drive (almost 3 hours) but no real problems when taking it slow and careful. |

As of 1630, snow is very light (it's stopped in H-burg already), looks to be clearing off to the SE per Weather Channel's map in motion. Roads per PA511 looking good to the north and west, with some congestion around larger population centers, Lancaster included. Safe trip, see you there! |

Most of the I-95 corridor saw snow during the day on Thursday. Many have delayed their departure until Friday morning. Better safe than sorry. Friday and Saturday should be fine, but cold. Travel safe and hope to see you there. |

Drove from Raleigh today….could get into the Host lot…the entrance had not been cleared…(I was the purple BMW some folks might have seen). A show plow crew staying there got me up the hill….only to find no parking spaces had been cleared….don't even ask about the dealer lot! No hot water last fall…now this…. |

Hey Mike…I'll be there tomorrow… Hope to see you. Ben |

Watch out for the snowplow dudes in the pickup truck. They're a couple of lunatics. |

I made the drive from near Pittsburgh. It usually takes about 3.5 hours. It took me almost exactly 3.5 hours today. So no difference. The PA turnpike was gorgeous, no snow, even slightly drying in some spots. Once I got to Lancaster the roads weren't great but there was also no traffic so I think I got through quicker than normal. Went to Applebees for dinner, waited an hour and a half to get my food. To be fair they comped all of it because of the wait. I'm not sure what the problem was. There were other people that came in after I ordered, ordered, got their food, ate it and left before I got my food. I ended up asking to get it to go. Maybe they were discriminating against me because I'm English. |

Made the drive from Durham. Left at 1pm and given that would put me right into the middle of the blizzard in central and northern VA I decided to take backroads and highways north and bypass Richmond, Fredericksburg, DC, and Baltimore entirely. I encountered essentially no traffic on the route I took from Durham to Lancaster. Downside is it took a long time because the backroads were in worse shape than the freeways. Usually a 6 hour drive. Took 9. But no traffic. I hate sitting in traffic. |

Well, just arrived late Thurs, long after snow was over (11 pm). Must say PA absolutely stinks at snow clearing once you get off the interstate. What a cluster… |

Well folks, as it turned out, Lancaster was indeed a hard road to travel. I had three straight flights cancel in to Baltimore, from where I was to drive. Therefore, there are over 300 souls wailisted for this mornings flights, IF they go. This was due to snow and icing conditions in the area. I made the decision not to attempt to get to Lancaster for what in the end, might be a single day of activity. For any that placed pre-orders, I will mail them postage-free. My apologies, but the fates were aligned against my attending. Bill |

Arrived around 3:00pm yesterday, took an alternate route this time, basically avoiding route 95 south the entire way. Got through MA, CT and NY with zero issues, came into PA from the north down route 84 and then got on 81, a clear shot all the way down to route 61. Then the problems started as I approached Reading; snowing still around 1:30, got worse when I got on 222, it was a disaster, barely plowed, snowing like mad as I approached Lancaster. Got to the dealer hall and by some miracle, made it up the unplowed hill and unloaded my van indoors (thanks for that Mike). Parking lot was a complete and utter disaster, left my van there and hitched a ride from my cousin.
Not bad overall, but as others have said, the roads in and around Lancaster were awful. The con is definitely going to take a hit; they don't call it Cold Wars for nothing. |

Well, based on the issues with the Host parking lots and the secondary roads (I stay at a B&B out in the country), I guess I will not attempt to drive up. I'm really disappointed that I will miss COLD WARS. Mark |

I should think that today (Friday) the roads should be fine and that tomorrow Sat they should be ever better. If you can make it do so. No pressing reason to stay home now! The storm is over. |
Pictors Studio | 06 Mar 2015 6:45 a.m. PST |
Yeah, this snow won't be around long when the temp gets into the mid 30s. Unless you are looking for an excuse to stay home. |
capncarp | 06 Mar 2015 8:54 a.m. PST |
As of 1052 Friday, most PA roads look clean and green, localized slowdowns. Maryland/DC area: beltway between Bethesda and Hillendale/Beltsville show some slowdown, otherwise green to the PA border through Baltimore. |

Friday morning finds a bright blue sky…not one cloud. Cold and roads are improving, as is the parking, slowly. |
