…self-propelled artillery system

"Two covered self-propelled gun on a platform wagon. It's all we see of what could be the new Russian artillery system 2S35. Originally, the 2S35 was supposed to be a unique concept of a twin-barreled self-propelled howitzer named "Koalitsiya-SV". This ambitious project has been cancelled but, in February 2014, the 2S35 project has been confirmed as active. It would be presented to the public for the first time at the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on May 9, 2015.

The ambitions of the project have been adjusted downwards. Only one 152mm barrel remains instead of two. The export modification could receive a 155mm caliber barrel.

During a press conference in Moscow held in February 2014, the Russian defense industry unveiled new technology of weapons in the field of artillery. One of the new artillery systems was the 2S35 "Koalitsiya (Coalition) SV", a modernized version of the 2S19 MSTA-S. One scale model of the new 152mm self-propelled howitzer 2S35 had been unveiled for the first time to the public. At the same time, a new wheeled self-propelled howitzer was unveiled based on a Kamaz 8x8 truck chassis equipped with the same turret as the 2S35 tracked howitzer…"
