Had our second try with Power Legion last week. This time the setting was Gotham which gave me a chance to break out my recently painted cops and newly completed urban buildings. The full Batrep is here: link We're still working on ways to balance the heroes so armor isn't so dominating, but Power Legion has proved to be a very enjoyable ruleset so far.

Do you prefer PL over Super System? |

I can only speak for myself (I just played the cops) and I haven't played Supersystem,so take this with a grain of salt. I've tried to read the supersystem rules a few times and it just seems like there's an awful lot of rules. As in too many. I was surprised by this since some of the other goalsystem games I've read seem fairly easy to grok. Power Legion on the other hand seems to streamline the genre nicely. I'm not a big superhero fan (though I like a nice comic now and then), so when I play this kind of game I want it to be fast moving and feel like reading a comic book rather than bogging down in the minutia of a character. One last thing, though this is by Ganehsa and though you can still "fail-out" on a turn it doesn't feel like a SBH clone. Andrea has branched out a bit in writing this and the results are quite nice. |
