Brilliant as always.

Do I see French infantry in the 1860 regulation tunic and shako. If so what manufacturer or are they conversions?

Thanks for your kind words! The French infantry is Chrisopher's, I'll ask him and answer here soon…
Cheers,
Phil.

Magnifique!

A nice battle report in a proper scale with good paint jobs, a sense of humor from our diarist, and thin bases. All is right in the world today. What, you ask about the comment on the bases? I hate over thick bases for any piece that isn't a static diorama. They just destroy the illusion entirely for me. But, hey, we're here to admire the wonderful game shown above.

Nicely done. And I see you won.

Thank you so much guys for your kind words…I spent a lot of time making this one, your feedbacks are much appreciated…
@Broglie : French infantry are conversions (essex, old glory, minifigs with changed heads, the 'speciality' of Christopher!) and it is the regulation that was in force in the Crimea in 1854…
Once again, glad you enjoy!
Phil.

Thanks Phil

The only French in the 1860 regulation uniform I am aware of is Frei Korps but I think they are very small 15s and might not go with the Old Glory. Frei Korps (carried by QRF now) figures are for the French expedition to Mexico in 1863.

I was under the impression that, being hill tribesmen, the Kabyles all fought on foot.

Phil the french06 Mar 2015 9:49 a.m. PST

Hi!
Many of them were on foot, but cavalry and camels were not rare…in the 1871 insurection, 100 000 horsemen on 200 000 fighters! Don't know about the exact proportions in all battles unfortunatly…
Best,
Phil.

200, 000!!!? It would seem the documentary conventions of the ancient world were still alive and well in those parts.
