I'd add Paul Ham's "Vietnam..the Australian war" ..it looks pretty daunting by it's size but reads very easily ..never had anything less than praise. ! Read about the experience of an ally from the first days, but not from a the normal 'US' perspective. and "The Tunnels of CuChi" by Mangold and Pennycate. Also useful for the wargamer (although not so academic …but plenty of good photos/pictures) is the coffee-table type-book "The Vietnam war" by Landsdowne press. It includes a bunch of illustrations/diagrams in the first few pages that are very very useful/informative. The text is very well organised , I think it was first published in 1988 and has one re-edition. |
