Looks a little basic at a 2 minute glance, but something to work with. No troop lists that I saw yet.

Thank you for the link. I will have a look at it.

Neat! Just playtest material per the article, but it's a good start and the fact that they are even looking at this is pretty cool. Another check in the 'things 5th edition is getting right' column.

Interesting take on mass battles… I really like the Victory Points System, the handling of surviving units on the losing side, and how they assign VP's to regions of the battlefield. Those can easily transfer to 1st/2nd Ed. BS games, wholesale.

The idea of tracking HP for each Stand, however, will really slow down the combat resolution. You will only remove a figure when that "Stand" reaches zero HP, plus the bookkeeping for each Stand/figure…

There are only two classes of Morale: Good, and Broken/routing. That is a killer for me, as it means you are either perfect, ready to fight, or running for your lives!

Still, all things considered, it is actually a pretty good method for adapting mass battles to an RPG. It could be adapted to any RPG rules system, with little modification, IMO. The price is fantastic -- FREE! Thanks for sharing -- downloaded, read, saved, and shared even, with other mini's/fantasy RPG gamer friends. Cheers!
