Here are some Blue Moon French Cuirassiers and Dragoons mounted on AB horses.
Like I mentioned in a different post today, they are a good match, except for the sheepskin/saddle being on the small size and thus a little "off" compared to the rider and the horses.
I find that AB heavy cavalry horses accentuates this even more, and therefore decided to overlook the issue of bridle and use the AB light cavalry horses for the BM Cuirassiers and dragoons.
Me thinks it works ok;)
See for yourself and make up your own mind.

Ps: I have used some of the BM horses to make casualty markers by bending, cutting ad reshaping them, as well as the riders. Al the riders have bent altered this way to make for diversity within units.

The figures and horses here are painted by Fernando Enterprises.
(sorry for the bad Iphone photos!)

Vandamme never became maréchal. He had a bad Kulm on the way.
Very inspiring all this.

Ah! Sorry bout that, you are absolutely correct senor Frog! Yes I remember now, he had a little run in with some cossacks…The big guy should have given him a marshals baton-bonus in absentia though. If not for any military success than at least for having a cool name;)

All great looking figures Erik, remember I want first dibs on any ABs you sell, LOL

In many ways Vandamme ( whose name for us middle aged is also a famous brand of kids sweets pain d'épice) deserved it just as much as others.
And Kulm was not his fault, mostly.

Dr Jeckyll08 Mar 2015 11:53 a.m. PST

ha ha:) Sweets and Belgian roundkicks! Vandamme the elder would never have imagined.
We have played Kulm about half a dozen times with our gaming group, using both Black Powder and Age of Eagles, and poor Vandamme never manages to defeat those Russians before the Prussians arrive in the rear. It seems that there was very little he could have done differently given the intel and layout of the battlefield. I am sure someone will correct me here though, I do not claim to have any deeper knowledge of the battle..
I do indeed agree with you about V deserving the baton though, especially when you take into consideration some of the other characters that received one…
