I have had this rattling around in my head for a while as a piece of scale evangelism. Go forth and spread the word! Double Duty: Making 28mm Work In 15mm, Part 1 link Best, JBR |

I do that. Here's an old 28mm Vor powersuit acting as a 15mm mech.

Excellent. I have an entire post planned for suits/dreadnoughts/warjacks repurposed for 15mm. They all make great mechs with the right tweaks. Best, JBR |

I have NO detectable shame in this regard. If a model is "scale neutral," I have no reservation about turning it loose upon an unsuspecting opponent… Reviresco's Dreenoi "Cockroach" Walking Tank is my idea of a thoroughly scale neutral sci fi model. IMHO it would work in 6mm as a giant war walker, in 15mm as a heavy armored walker, in 1/72 scale as its intended function as a hightech walking light-medium tank, and in 25mm or 28mm as an unmanned hunter-killer drone:
I look forward to your post. We old hands need to wake these young 'uns up to the fact that just because a certain overpriced company says you can't play unless it says "28mm" on the box, this is sci-fi, so anything goes!

Good post! I'll add forgegaurds from Mantic as dwarf walkers.

I'm not sure what scale they are, but I've used Heavy Gear and Battletech figures as support walkers for 15mm before. |

GW Dreadnoughts work well in 15mm. I needed to put the force below together quickly over two nights so a friend could join in a game of Gruntz.

When GASLIGHT first started, everybody and his brother used the Burger King Kids Toys Wild Wild West giant tarantula. It would be even more giant in 15mm. |

I'm building a low tech sci-fi force out of a mixture of 15mm figures, 15mm vehicles, 1/72 scale vehicles and a few of the Battlefield Evolution tanks which have become 15mm Super heavies. |

Ditto all of the above. I'd also use some 6mm with 15 or 28 and vice versa. Or 10mm with 15mm. Sci Fi and Fantasy (specially non-humans). link or

Just bought an GW Ork Wartrukk off eBay to make into a transport for 15mm Space Orks! link (scroll down) |

I'm using some of the Privateer Press models in 15mm. The Dawnguard Invictors, slightly modified, make excellent Appleseed Landmates in 15mm.
Gotta scrape off some of the gems, that's about it. It's not worth the headache to install separate master arms, but some Landmates don't have exposed master arms anyway. I'm also using the Skorne Cyclops as Warstriders in a fantasy 15mm setting. What's a Warstrider? Think "Escaflowne".
Cyclops are BIG, probably 55mm tall. |

Here's an armored cavalry platoon that I fielded that uses both 28mm and 1/285 figures. Iron Wind's Battletech is full of units that can be piled into 15mm.

Most of the 40k Tau line (except the Fire Warriors and Kroot) is sufficiently scale neutral to use in 15mm. The DFish makes a great dropship. The current Dark Eldar Raider is a fine skyship if you replace the guns. Many of the Warmachine Warjacks for Khador and Cygnar work as big stompy robots. The Vor Growlers (currently IWM and RPE), at least the smaller ones (pups and Onehorns) and some of the Shard work just fine. The Union Mule is a lovely grav robo-hauler, and the self-deploying sentry guns rather cool in 15mm. Hasslefree's Grymn are passable as heavy-worlders. The Dunwich Detective Mi-Go (currently at em-4) are cute lil guys in 28mm, and terrifyingly hulking brain flies in 15mm. Most Infinity Drones work just fine in 15mm Dark Age Brood Hounds, Puds, and Broodlings are terrifying in 15mm. |

Talking of which – anyone have any of the new GW Grim Hammers from the hobbit? I'm thinking they might make great heavily armoured ogres in 15mm – anyone compared? |
