I'm dreaming up a Brecourt Manor scenario on one of our sand tables at Metropolitan Wargamers in Brooklyn, NY using 28mm and I need four 105mm German Howitzers. I'd love some comments and pics of other people's experiences with: Armorfast LEFH 18 Howitzer 105mm (comes with two plastic models for about $12 USD -- seems like a deal) link Valiant German leFH 18 105mm Howitzer (just one per box at $12 USD/each) link Warlord Games German Heer leFH 18/40 10.5cm howitzer (1943-45)(nice metal model with crew and details but expensive at $30 USD/each if I need to buy four) link I'd probably buy crew separately for the plastic models to match my other miniatures. I'm also not super concerned with things being 100% accurate as these are basically going to be terrain/objectives in the scenario, but I don't want them to look goofy. Thanks all, Kimber brooklynwargaming.com |

armourfast is 1/72, so close to 20mm. 28's would look huge next to them. valiant claims to be 1/72, but the figures are way bigger than most. not as big as a 28mm model, though. but it might be close enough for your purposes. |

I think Warlord would be your best bet . I am sure the valiant and armorfast models are exactly the same . |

The Warlord models are really nice. Since the 105s are basically just scenery, you might consider simply having scratchbuilt barrels sticking out of a mass of camo netting and foliage. |

If you're going to go with 1:72, another option is Zvezda. I picked up one for my 20mm Germans for around $5 USD at my FLGS. It's a great little kit at a super low price. |

If they are game props I'd go with 1/72nd scale ones and drape them in camo netting. The Armorfast ones are likely to be on the large side, so probably most suitable. I wouldn't blow 120 USD on something you are only going to use once and are essentially just objective markers. Just say they are sub-scale as they represent the objectives |
