Hello all.

Just a bit of info. I wanted to pass along. I recently began building a new collection of terrain for Warhammer and have been utilizing Youtube for tutorials and inspiration.

I came across a fellow who runs a site called Terranscapes. He really does amazing stuff and his tutorials and insights really opened up so many new options and possibilities.

For anyone struggling with making good water effects, I struggled with resins and water-effect products and got very frustrated in the past trying to do water, particularly running water.

Terranscapes shows rivers utilizing paint with a layer of gloss acrylic medium over it. There a number of choices of brands; Liquitex, Blick, etc, as well as Modpodge gloss sealer.

I used the Modpodge option and it worked FANTASTIC! Essentially it has the look and feel of PVA glue as you're applying it but dries completely clear and glossy. Modpodge is cheaper than the Liquitex and Blick brand and it's just so easy to work with. All you need is a paint brush or icecream stick and use a dabbing motion back and forth. I've never had better rivers in all my years of making terrain.

I will be posting pictures of my terrain as I progress through it, I'm really excited to get feedback and criticism from you all and I hope my work inspires you to try some different things.

Here is the link where he compares the different acrylic medium products:

I like his work as well. Always pick up some tips from his videos.
