Hi, I was considering to play the old Squad Leader and ASL scenarios but with a different ruleset, like for example BKC. My problem is that most of the scenarios have around 30 squads per side and that's too much for my forces. I'd like to play designed scenarios for a maximum of 16-20 stands per side. Do you know of any? TIA |

Try the Skirmish Campaign series. |

You can pare some of them down. The scenario book "Hit the Dirt" for Crossfire should fit very well. |

Have a look at TooFatLardies scenario books. |

Look at Micro Melee (MM) from Britton Publishers (BP): link BP has a number of scenario books to include the ETO, PTO, and Eastern Front for MM. All the scenarios are easily translated for rule systems other than MM. |

Thanks for the help gents. Does anyone know where in Europe can be ordered the Skirmish Campaign series? @Weasel, one of the rulesets I'm planning to use is 5core company command; would be so bad using 16-20 stands per side? |

Blacksmith – I usually cap out at about 14-15 stands or so since my table space gets a bit too crowded otherwise. It can slow down a bit because trying to maneuver that many stands into position can get a bit slow, but you should do fine. I know people who've run skirmish fivecore games with 20-25 figures on each side and they said it was fine. If you are learning the rules, I'd start with 12 or so, just to get the hang of things, then bump it up. |

Thanks Weasel, I played 5core skirmish a couple of times but company command not yet. I'll start small. |

If you already know the skirmish rules, you're probably good to go :) THe biggest change is adding specialists to the squads and vehicles. |

You'll need to scale up the Skimish Campaigns books for company level, but it is easy enough to scale them up. I've done quite a few at brigade level… I think Caliver books stock them. I usually buy them at shows. The Fireball Forward scenarios are specifically designed for company level. Some of the smaller SL scenarios are too, particularly the para series, Devils Hill, Poupeville Exit, Niscemi Biscari Highway etc. Some of my favourites. |

Many thanks Martin. Forgot to mention that I'm playing 41-43 Eastern Front :) I'll check Fireball Forward. |

I'd say a lot of the Advanced Squad Leader scenarios might work well, too, though you may have to look for the smaller ones, or scale them back a little bit. |

I have a hundred or more and 95% would need scale them down. From what I have seen so far, skirmish campaigns are perfect for 5core company commander, and Crossfire's Hit the dirt for BKC. ASL too but I just don't have so many stands. |

Yah, some of the ASL scenarios go bonkers with how many squads they throw on the table. |
