If Rumors are to be believed, GW will be making Plastic Horus Heresy era (30k) space marines soon. link If this happens, no doubt they will be GW-ridiculous prices, but I have to admit that for the first time in a long time GW has my attention. I'm not going to start a new army or even buy the current edition gamebooks, but I could see my self being persuaded to buy a box of Heresy era marines to add to my old Blood Angels. Might even get me to finish updating this force for use in Warpath. As most TMP'ers seem to be non or no-longer GW players… Would Heresy Era Marines tempt you to buy a GW product again? |

Nope, but I can understand why GW is doing this; the Heresy era seems to be very popular with the WH40k player base, Space Marine players in particular (for obvious reasons). -Will |

Might be tempted if the price point was right (never gonna' happen) as I have quite a soft spot for the older stuff and I'd like to see some of the pre-Hearsay troop types in miniature (from the books, which were perfectly adequate pulp sci-fi). What I don't understand is why now, why not a few years ago, when the books started to get popular and people started to clamour? Once again responds to the market like an aging sloth with narcolepsy! |

I'd consider getting a squad or so, but I really doubt the price will be worth it. |

Actually, GW has been creeping in elements of pre-Heresy (30K) armor gradually in their newer products. For instance, their latest sprues for Tactical, Terminator, Sternguard and Vanguard squads include elements of Mark IV (Maximus), Mark V (Heresy) as well as Mark VIII (Errant) designs in addition to the traditional Mark VI (Corvus or 'Beakie') and Mark VII (Aquila) parts, which allow you to make composite space marines of even greater variety. |

I would. If they make plastic 30K era marines I'll do an army. I actually just got an Angron model so I guess i'll be doing World Eaters. "What I don't understand is why now, why not a few years ago, when the books started to get popular and people started to clamour? Once again responds to the market like an aging sloth with narcolepsy!" I would imagine that the popularity has just grown. I wouldn't want to invest in starting a whole new thing, which 30K would be, especially one that directly competes with your main product line, if you don't know it is going to be successful. Now they know that people are buying them at Forge World prices and, after sticking their toe in, they have found that the water is nice and they are jumping in. I'm not sure why people think that GW is stupid. People have been saying that for as long as I've been gaming, so like 20 years. They have also been predicting that they will go under soon. For 20 years. |

I would bite. I know that I am an addict and have become to accept that when they offer me the drug I don't look at the price tag. |

I know that I am an addict and have become to accept that when they offer me the drug I don't look at the price tag. Hah. One of my 40K buddies once called it "crack" because it's so addictive. |

I might but price will problemly scary me off. |

I'm pretty excited at the idea of some 30k. I won't be playing the rules, but new models, especially older Marine armor, really appeals to me. I really hope they do some plastic beakies! If rumors are true we might see some 30k xenos too… |

I admit I'd strongly consider it for a "just because" project, might do it with the Movie Marines stats from WD300. I'm really fond of the Flight of the Eisenstein story, and only requires ~20 models of any one paintjob. |

Ditto. I'd probably pick up a few to do skirmish games, and just for the fun of painting them |

So, would GW "bring back" the Squats, Jokaero, Space Slann, etc. into a 30K pre-Rogue Trader setting, because they "wouldn't be extinct yet"? (Nah, wouldn't count on it… ;-) But I do see them bringing out "$p€cia£ £imit€d €dition" $M Primarch$… :o |
Garand | 26 Feb 2015 9:47 p.m. PST |
Jokaero have been "back" for several years now… Damon. |
