Any thoughts on anyone who produces something appropriate for:

Just to clarify, the outer wall.

I'm having a weird childhood flashback to that illustration PVT641, do you know where it came from?

PVT64126 Feb 2015 11:11 a.m. PST

I google images searched Iriquois Village. Unfortunately the items suggested by X42 are 28MM. Any other ideas for 15MM?

That makes some sense, I must have seen it in a book somewhere growing up, Iroquois being one of the nations around here.

Blue Moon or Irregular would be my first thoughts for this sort of thing, but I haven't checked. Von Ted's answer may be the best, maybe using thicker sticks though.

Historygamer,
That is a good idea for starters. Any others?

My thoughts were that Scheltrum's logs were 60mm high (4 man heights @15mm) which is how that wall looks to me. Sorry if it does not suit.

X42,
I emailed them to confirm the scale as it did not say on the website. Not your fault that it is the larger scale. Pity too as it was perfect!

I am not sure that that many tribes built such structures. Blue Moon has an excellent number of Indian dwellings though.

I do seem to recall that the Onondaga's had rebuilt such a structure somewhere in up state NY though. Perhaps look at that for more details and time period used.

If I am understanding that drawing correctly, there is a center pole, with two outer ones on each side at an angle – so not a stockade in the western sense. You may have to build this from scratch.

PVT64127 Feb 2015 6:23 a.m. PST

Historygamer you may be correct.

historygamer27 Feb 2015 9:11 a.m. PST

Doesn't look too hard, but again, you may want to check the time period and if this correct for your game.

I'd seriously think about scratch building this. A card former to get the inner and outer walls at the correct angle (looks about 30 degrees) to each other. Cocktail sticks or bamboo skewers for the timbers. The walkway looks to be covered to provide a good walking surface so cardstock covered in tissue soaked PVA glue maybe. In the image the walkway isn't level so a bit of warping would be acceptable.

With a bit of experimenting on some trial sections it should be doable.
