Great footage of missiles in flight. I love the missile that some how skipped across the deck and missed. link |

And I'm sure that replica was built with the finest steel, equipped with CIWIs, counter measures and was screened by Aegis Cruisers and ECM aircraft. |

And I am sure the target was moving at 30 knots, positioned more than 3 miles from shore. The point is nothing Iran has is likely to ever get close to one. I just attached the link because it is cool to see that many missiles being shot off. (and that the fake still didn't sink) |

…and everyone knows that American carriers are 600 feet long. |

…meanwhile, for those with a real and professional interest in such matters this video shows the first released demonstration of a very interesting capability that has highly significant implications for freedom of manoeuvre of US and allied shipping in and around the Gulf. |

Gosh, it's almost like they're a sovereign nation that recognize an existential threat. The animal is treacherous – when attacked, it defends itself… |

Is every one of their demonstrations named "Great Prophet?" I missed the flying jet boats, thought those were their new weapon a few years back. |

So did they use one of those EX-soviet super torpedoes? Kind of bizarre propaganda show if they were not actually able to sink the barge. |

Not bizarre at all. For a start anti ship missiles are not all that great at sinking ships, being more of a "mission kill" weapon (they are generally not that good at letting in water). And it is unlikely that the aim of the event was to sink the target. I've been involved in the planning and execution of similar trials with various navies and sinking is often the last thing you want to do since you've probably instrumented the target to determine shock, blast and fragmentation effects so you want that data back (and the recording gear, its expensive) and offboard data links have a habit of not working when you need them to. Plus you learn an awful lot from physical inspection of the damage. Plus the fact that, at 600 feet this is not a cheap target to have built and so it would be good to get several uses out of it. |

Speaking of bizarre Iranian propaganda, they stated yesterday that two RAF transport aircraft had been shot down while carrying weapons to Daesh… EH???!!!! |
