It Came From Beyond The Still – Aliens vs. Hillbillies is a non-stop action-filled tabletop miniatures game that is full of hilarity and combat between alien varmints and the Hillbilly moonshiners. As if the aliens weren't bad enough, if you are a hillbilly, you have to look out for the Revenuers and the other authorities. Luckily, you have the Men in Plaid on your side to even the power, as well as some Hillbilly cool powers that are sure to surprise even the jaded shiner. TMP link |

No Pulp player should pass this one by. It is a absolutely mandatory purchase. |

I like the concept but not the prices for figures. |

Sergeant Paper The reason Rob stopped releasing miniatures is because everyone complained about the price Not everyone can be a reaper miniatures and afford to do everything in house. When you have to outsource the molding and casting things cost more, thus cost the consumer more. The whole reason he stopped selling stuff in person was he got tired of hearing it. If they were priced like GW does then I could understand people complaining. Frankly I do not blame him in the least. |

Me either. If that's what he needs to sell them, super, good on him, hope he gets it. But _I_ am not paying that much for those figures. That he can't stand to hear that, well, it is not my problem. |

And what is more, there are loads and loads of figures you can use for this. Two boxes of Wargames Factory survivors give you about all the human figures you'll ever need. It is very pointless to complain about figures being too expensive. If there are cheaper alternatives, you should buy those. If there are not, they're probably not expensive at all but reasonably priced for the market. |

That's one of the reasons I got out of the 'business' of making and selling miniatures. Folks liked the stuff, but weren't willing to pay for it…wanting to pay LESS than even for similar 'Reaper' etc figures. Making miniatures can be a HORRIBLY expensive proposition, which I know, most folks who buy them don't care about. I tried at two conventions, (Origins 2004 and 2005) to sell my DGUSA stuff…and we had a lot of interest…but too many folks who must have left their 'little grey cells' back at the hotel room, because they kept wanting to buy my PRO-PAINTED samples…(clearly labled 'Painted samples NOT for sale')…for the same price as the unpainted…and 'carping' about it…when I wouldn't. And then trying to 'dicker me down' (by 50% or more on a $1.50 USD figure)…by saying 'well, it's not exactly what I want…but I can take it off your hands for this amount'. Not cool! The old joke about how to 'make a million dollars in miniatures production business' is to START with TWO million…..isn't far off! That's why I support 'independent' vendors/mfg…because I KNOW how hard and frustrating it is and how 'ungrateful' and 'nitpicky' some 'potential customers' can be. Oh, who am I kidding….some of the 'snarkiest' folks wouldn't buy your figures in any case…or even take it off your hands, even if you paid them to do it! (yes, I've had someone TRY to 'convince' me to do that for them!!!!) My momma didn't raise no 'dummie-o-pod!' IF you want something, bad enough…you'll buy it…at the price listed. Otherwise…nothing to see, move along, move along! Being 'snarky' about it….doesn't do anyone any good. No-one likes their 'baby' put down….or their dreams 'defiled'…but some folks LIVE for that….they LIKE making themselves feel better by ZINGING others…(and not just in the miniatures business!). I helped in the development of some of the ICFBTS stuff….and I saw how 'cheap-bum' and snarky some folks were about it and to Rob….and I can only say….they just don't 'get it'. And probably never will! I have loved and played the game….and it's goofy, pulpy, insanity! If you've not tried it, I give it 7 out of 8 tentacles up….(I have to balance on something!)… Keep on Slishing! Sgt DWW-btod-formerly producer of DGUSA figures. Some still available for a limited time from Black Cat Miniatures in the UK…under their Whiskers and Tentacles line. |

I was lucky enough to get a box of the blobs just before he closed up shop. Good to know it's back! I played this game at Gen Con in 2012 and it was a huge amount of fun. When I got home, I bought a couple of Plasticville Hobo Jungles and Trailer Parks just for this game….They're still awaiting painting. :( Nice to know they're making stills. I got a couple in O scale from here. link |

I saw the blobs on EBAY the other day and also the 'cephalopods' that I had sculpted by Jay Miller to match the designs in the game. There was a suppliment for the game that used the TITANIANS from Black Cat Bases, that Brian Cooke sculpted the masters for. Lots of good stuff still out there….for those still looking and WILLING to pay what it's listed at. Sgt DWW-btod |

Time to break out my Cephs, my grays, Titanians, zombies and hillbillies!!!! Oh, I got a bunch of 'print out' houses, trailers and such….already assembled and taped up….so I'm READY!!! I really can not see that these are that expensive considering they are a skirmish rules and not a rank and file set. When one $25 USD pack gets your all you need to play I do not see it as a huge investment. |
