Have done some Full Thrust Templates inspired by the design on EmeraldCoast Skunkworks link

These are made from double layer 2mm MDF, can do single layer 2mm acrylic.

Would anyone be interested in these?

yes please

Those look pretty neat.

Can you make them a full 360 degrees?

I suspect some may want them without the gap at the rear, which I assume is there to aid removal from the flight base. I suspect some might prefer not to have a gap, and to glue them permanently to their bases.

Make them solid, drill a hole in the center, and use them as the bases.

I second the above suggestion: make them the base instead of a template. Also, I think you only need the six firing arcs--the degrees just clutter up the template, in my opinion.

For FT, IIRC,the rear 60 degree arc can not be used for targeting/firing?

DS5161 might have a good idea here but provide a grid (or something) to indicate the "Can't shoot out" rear arc?

While that applies to Full Thrust, that doesn't apply to many other rules sets.

I rather like the numbering on them, which could be useful for some rules sets as well.

Perhaps consider offering them with, and without the numbers.

Make it in 2 pieces, front and back. Slide together around the base as needed.

I would like it as it is.

Something like this:

The template is 70mm across, I can reduce this size for Bases but not for the slotted template.

Have done larger templates for bigger stand (50, 60, 75mm core hole).

Can fairly easily change the Core Shape (i.e.: the hole in middle) to others.

(Before anyone comments, the lettering will be the right way around once corner, just a quirk with my laser where is flips image in one plain)

I suspect that once people see the prices, they won't want to use them as bases anymore.

They're a very cute idea.

Mad Mecha Guy24 Feb 2015 4:07 p.m. PST

Won't be that expensive.

With 2mm MDF was thinking £2.00 GBP per double layer template set.

For bases, if use 70mm circle (can do smaller bases) get 24 for £8.40 GBP (ie; £0.33 GBP each).
