General Pettygree has been recalled to duty. This time the story is presented in the style of a silent movie. See what your imaginations can vicariously produce as you slowly view 24 scenes. There are no captions in the first twelve. Afterwards --- captions are very brief --- hopefully reminiscent of the "Silent Era." Take a seat to slooooowly view:

The story you just viewed is the prelude to a Colonial game on March 14, 2015. We engage in lots of tabletop historical miniatures games. Some miniatures are painted solely for story boarding – when multiples of the same character are painted. In this one, Gen. Pettygree had three different castings and poses. He has five all told.

Huzzah!!!!! Another update from the General!!!! Mayhap this will provide some additional motivation to paint some more ruddy Pathans… (no such thing as too many Pathans in your collection, and right now my Raj troops outnumber the Pathans in my collection, so I'm definitely on the wrong side of the curve!) |

ge2002bill: I want to thank you for your facinating postings of the adventures of General Pettygree. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of watching old movies with my Father on TV, like "Beau Geste", "Lives of a Bengal Lancer", "The Charge of the Light Brigade" and of course "The Four Feathers", and then dragging out our toy soldiers, (usually Britians in the 1950's), and attempting to recreate the excitement on our living room floor. Really cool stuff and I fondly hope for more!!!
