My Normandy scenario and terrain is coming along bit by bit. I thought it would be fun to include the French farmer and his wife on the US side. Can anyone recommend any figures of French farmer types or something that would work for that in 28mm? The rest of the figures are Warlord Bolt Action.

Cheers,
Dave

I would start looking at Fantasy, DnD type sellers. Manufacturers make commoners as well as heroes and villains.
At least they used to…
Good luck.

I was hoping for a shotgun-toting Fermier.

Hmm, may find something suitable in a Wild West range, and convert hat to beret.

link Look at GN4.

Have you looked at Resistance fighters or Spanish Civil War militia figures? Most of these would be armed, but it might be possible to convert them, replacing their SMGs with pitchforks, for example.

Have a look at these, you could modify then if you would like and make some cool period villagers:

Thank you all. I think I will have to convert for the wife but found an Artizan partisan who looks the part of the farmer:

Artizan also do a Pulp figures range with suitable individuals

West Wind do a French Civilians pack which contains a figure that might be suitable for the wife.

The chap on the bottom row with rolled up sleeves could be your farmer.

Although down as modern hfminis.co.uk 's Madge

Is not too bad for 1940s dress as a farmer's wife.

Wouldn't want to come home late from the pub if married to Madge!

I'd also have a look at VBCW ranges, such as Woodbine's hunters and poachers for the farmer and Musketeer's civilians for the farmer's wife.

Would never leave the pub if married to Madge!!!!!!
