Could I mix Barony Miniatures and Thunderbold Mountain? I understand Thunderbolt are on the small side (true 25). I plan on doing Aurthurian Skirmish (Songs of Arthur and Merlin). |

Deucey, I have Thunderbolt and the medievals are true 25's. They are wonderful figures. Hopefully someone will come along with a visual comparison, since I would like to know, too. If no one provides a comparison, since you are doing Skirmish, why not contact Thunderbolt and get a sample so you can see for yourself. BTW, if ordering online, note on the dropdown for each Thunderbolt miniature that you have options on sets of mounted/foot, or mounted or foot alone. Discounts are applied for ordering multiples from the drop downs. |

Thanks. Just out of curiosity, do you know why they have all the knights except Gawain? They even have the Green Knight, but no Gawain! |

Deucey, will this miniature do? link Check out Dark Sword miniatures, too. Larger miniatures than Thunderbolt historicals sculpted by a variety of accomplished sculptors, including many Tom Meier sculpts. I think his chain mail is incomparable. Dark Sword is more pricey, but since you're doing skirmish, you may find some great character figures. Here are samples, but look at others as well: link |

Personally I wouldn't mix them as Tom Meier's work is very slim and true scale whereas Max Carr's work is typical gaming style, chunkier etc. I love them both mind but can't see them mixing so well on the table. |

Just going by the web site descriptions, Barony Miniatures are 28mm and Thunderbolt Mountain are 25mm. From what Dozing Dragon said, above, I would surmise that they are compatible if you are only going to be using just these two lines. But for a skirmish game where you are going to be using many manufactures then individual figures should get along OK. I have the Thunderbolt Gwenyvere set and she is rather dainty. I do not have any Barony figures with which to compare. Jim |
