On Jan 22 WTJ released a bunch of vessels in the WWI Italian navy, including all the dreadnoughts and the last armored cruisers. I have absolutely no need for any of these, but I'm tempted anyway…. - Ix |

I basically want to buy every single thing that they produce. I have a handful of US and Spanish ships and just love them. I would really like them to add HMS Duke of Edinburgh/Black Prince as I was very underwhelmed by ones I received from Panzerschiffe recently. I have some of their cruisers and really liked them but these were not cast very well(missing barrels/chipped lifeboats). I do have HMS Natal/Warrior from CinC and I may pick up a pair of those and shave the extra guns off and turn the Panzerschiffe into wrecks(silver lining and all that). :) |

You can potentially get two wrecks out of each Panzerschiffe, if you cut it in half. Saw it diagonally across the midsection and sand the bottom at an angle so you have one wreck down by the bow and one down by the stern.
If you can figure out how to saw it in half lengthwise, you could glue each half down on its side, and use wood or putty to add a hull bottom, and have two models of a ship rolling over like the famous photos of Blücher or Gneisenau.
No, I haven't put any thought into this before…. <whistles tunelessly> - Ix |

I keep going back and forth on the Panzerschiffe. Now I am leaning on fixing them as it would give me an excuse to detail them a bit. But they are also much larger than the CinC Warrior so may not look good together. We shall see <whistles even more tunelessly> :) |

I actually like some of my Panzerschiffe British armored cruisers quite a bit, and many smaller ships (DDs, CLs, TBs, etc) are just fine, since they're small enough that extra detail on the more expensive models is lost anyway. I would not recommend mixing Panzerschiffe models with any other brand in the same class. As you've noticed, Panzerschiffes tend to be a bit oversized at the stated scale, which will look funny among sister ships. - Ix |

Oh I love the cruisers I got from them as well. They are great. Perfect casts etc. I think I just got a bad 'pull' with the Duke of Edin/Black Prince. These are also the only ships I have that have 'sister' of the same class from CinC. Looks not-so-hot together. I think I read somewhere on TMP that CinC's Warrior class cruisers are undersized, but from a personal stand point, they are just so mice looking that I am ok with it. I also have their Glasgow and Sydney models and they look a little slim next to Panzerschiffe but not too bad. If I ever actually get all these boats painted I am sure they will look fine on the table. :) |
