Hi All,

I found this today randomly and found it quite inspiring. It's quite old, but this gaming shop/group put together the entire map of Middle Earth and fought out the War of the Ring on two tables. The terrain work is imaginative and abstracted, but it works for me.

If you go to later blog posts you can see other LOTR goodness. Bravo to all.

That was a lot of love and effort.

Awesome.

That's what gaming is all about!

Way back there was a miniatures game called "Ring Bearer" from Little Soldier. The tabletop was an abstraction of all Middle Earth in the books. This terrain would be great fro that game.

What a great way to play out the whole trilogy. It's kind of like a super-sized miniatures boardgame. I love the stylized terrain features. They have a lot of character.

I could see doing a HOTT campaign on a big abstract board with that. How fun would that be?

Too right FABET01. They were the first miniature rules I had. I could quite easily see the guys who did these tables knowing about that game.

As for a HOTT campaign Darth, half the joy of HOTT is building the strongholds. Some of the models here look tailor-made for HOTT.

I still have "Ringbearer"! I remember playing it and it was a lot of fun!
