If I read it correctly, it says "May 1918" -- so perhaps during the Spring Offensive? I've read of similar stories of Italian armored cars during the retreat after Caporetto -- blasting their way through Austro-German controlled towns. How much of it was "artistic license" by the journalists . . . I don't know. :-) |

Yes, French armoured cars played a role during the Spring offensives in 1918. They fought in several rear guard actions, typically standing off the exits of towns and other choke points whilst keeping these under fire. Robert |
