Hello all,

February saw the release of Alien Encounters and Wasteland Mutants and, as we move on toward March, we are now working on organizing the Ikwen packs for release.

I have received test casts from the master molds and they are looking very nice. While inspecting them, I snapped a pic of how they will be arranged in their packs. There are three packs to kick off the range, each containing six figures -

1) Militia with assault rifles (bottom right) which is six individual poses.

2) Militia with missile launchers (top) – two of each of three poses.

3) Militia with Light Machineguns (bottom left) – tow of each of three poses.

We are shooting for a March release on these, as early as possible. Further announcement will be made when an exact time is figured out.

When they are released, they will be put on our store page on 15mm.co.uk

Enjoy,

-Eli

Just a thought but as these Ikwen's are useing borrowed or stolen weapons and tech they would also be perfect as Molts in the Hammers Slammers universe enough reason for me to pick up a couple of packs plus the fact that they look cool… :) zac

Definitely!

The Ikwen were conceptualized as one side of a asymmetric war. I also wanted to make a full on scifi race that wasn't advanced in its own right.

They are lovely clean miniatures. Those castings in the picture were in my own hands before heading for the USA and they almost stayed with me!

The Ikwen are militia, they are the defenders, the ruffians who try as hard as they can to see off invaders using stolen or bought weapons.

Very nice!

For my part, I'm thinking that given their primitive outfits, I might be able to convert their firearms to suit more of a sword-and-planet aesthetic. I've been toying with the idea of gaming 15mm sword-and-planet fantasy/sci-fi with all manner of alien races using firearms that look like something out of Barsoom. The Ikwen could then be adversaries/allies to Khurasan Araks and Chewks, Hydra Akarr, Darkest Star Zonii, and of course Black Hat Martians. But that's nothing I'm going ahead with at the time being. I could just as well get the Ikwen to use as they are, for ordinary sci-fi gaming.

Rod Campbell at Highlander Studios did a smashing job on these. Very happy with the clean, easy molding casts. Even the neck spines worked out.

you sculpt these – really look nice

LoudNinjaGames16 Feb 2015 12:02 p.m. PST

Nah Jason, not my sculpts.

These were contracted a while back, after the Chuhuac, but they got back burnered for a bit. Roderick Campbell of Highlander Studios is the wizard behind the magic of these miniatures. My concepts but his handy work.

Those look great!

AVAMANGO17 Feb 2015 11:10 a.m. PST

Eli you have probably answered this question already, but how tall are they?

LoudNinjaGames17 Feb 2015 11:30 a.m. PST

They range in height but the tallest of them is about 18mm from toe to eye.

If you factor in the neck spine they are taller but they are supposed to be slightly taller, on average, than humans. Of course with scale creep they will be about on par with human height in some ranges.

these look really nice; you have some really cool aliens between these and the ones coming from your kickstarter

LoudNinjaGames17 Feb 2015 5:52 p.m. PST

Yes, thank you.

With the Chuhuac "Space Raptors" the Yan'drassi and the Ikwen I am off to a pretty good start.

Perfect i was hoping that they would be at least a head taller than humans so 18mm is bang on the button for me.

Glad to hear it!
