I saw some of Dwartist's pictures showing infantry and ACP's valkyries, and if I look in the 'heavy gear and 15mm' thread the heavy gears seem to be similarly sized. Am I correct or is perspective fooling me? I think I like the heavy gears a bit better because of their dynamic poses. ACP's angel of death looks really nice though. |

Most heavybgears are a fraction bigger ( hunter jager) they are a walking suit the Valkyrie is a power suit. |

With the Valkyrie the pilots feet are in the knees of the suit. |

Miniaturewise I am guessing they are the same size since HG minis are actually 12mm 1/144 scale. Unless you are talking about the old RAFM HG minis. |

RAFM Gears are 18.5mm 1/87 scale Approximate height on RAFM base and depending on 'stance' of the mini: Iguana/Cheetah: 43mm Hunter/Jager: 50mm Black Mamba/Jaguars: 52-55mm Cobra/Grizzly: 60mm |

The latest gears are ok, but only the largest models have the ergonomics to fit a human pilot. They're all great for combat bots mind you, but not many look like they could be piloted by a15mm scale hhuman. |

Combats bots are fine. Humans are highly overrated, and in a scifi setting an AI should perform perfectly fine. |

I have a bunch I'm prepping for that purpose. One thing for sure is they're a decent cast metal figure that can take conversions very nicely. |

Indeed, the HG gears make excellent cybernetic or AI types for 15 mm and their animesque lines together with the dynamic poses make them very desirable. I am massing a 15 mm Japanese force thick with gears. |

I snagged a couple blisters of Gears to turn into 15mm models of the mecha from Gasaraki. I basically need to re-build the bodies, the waist/legs and arms are fine. The hovertanks are almost big enough to work in 28mm (they're about the same size as a 1/56 scale M24 Chaffee!) |

I cant wait for my plastic gears to come in. They will be so much easier to convert. |
