I was wondering through the office supply store last week and I found a roll of tape (similar in size to duct tape) that was dry erase material. I bought a roll and some dry erase markers to see what I could do with it. I found some 1" plastic discs at the teacher supply store that are yellow on one side and red on the other. I cut out a round piece of dry erase tape and stuck it on the yellow side, leaving the red side blank. I have a set of rules that track fatigue for the unit and when they reach a certain level "permanent fatigue" they stay on the board, but are technically useless and pick up if they take another casualty. So what I am going to do for my next convention game is use these as casualty markers where players just change the number on the disc (wipe off and re-write) as the unit takes casualties and when it reaches permanent fatigue, just flip the disc over to the red side. I am going to try this at Cold Wars and see how it goes.

Has anyone else used this tape for anything hobby related?

Never heard of it. Sounds like it could be pretty useful. What's it called?

Dry erase removable tape by Scotch brand.

Rampantlion,

Don't waste your money!!!!

Buy the pin striping at the local auto parts store!

More color options, 10 times the tape, at half the price!

Is the pin striping tape dry erase for markers?

"Pin striping" is normally vinyl, so it should work with dry erase pens.
Though you would really need to try it, or hear from someone that has.

I had no idea this stuff existed. I can think of all sorts of things to do with it!

clear shelf paper [the sticky kind] also works. And is far cheaper. I stick it over labels where I can mark off casualties etc. with erasable/dry erase pens.

McLaddie, the tape is only a few bucks for 5 yards. The other reason that I bought it is that it is removable without damage to the surface beneath as well.

Yep, the clear shelf paper is pretty permanent…but it's clear.
