Dear List Members:

I am reviving a Victorian Science Fiction project that was inspired by 20,000 Leagues under The Sea. I was putting together a group of miniatures of mid to late 19th century sailors and divers. I have been able find the divers that I need and some sailors were close to what I am looking for. All of the miniatures are 28mm scale.

I am wondering if anyone can recommend any 28mm range of mid to late 19th century sailors (no preferred nationality) in 28mm. I have the Brigade Miniatures sets and the gun crew from Eureka. I would like to find some that might be carrying ship-related item (sextant, telescope etc.)

Feel free to post your suggestions!!

OLd Glory has loads of sailors in their 28mm Boxer Rebellion range. They offer both armed types and gun crews. They have marines as well.

There was a company that made resin VSF vehicles about 10-15 years ago that had Jules Verne style submarine that had a small crew of sailors. The name of the company escape me?

Does anyone remember what company name is? It is not Scheltrum.

Katwerks, are you thinking about Tin Soldier?

They also have a range of guns (useful if you're scratch building your own ships):

For me, however, I'm using the Eureka sailors to crew my ships.

Oh, yeah, just remembered that Pulp Figures has crews of US Navy as well as merchant marine crews – more oriented to the early 20th century but might stretch to 19th.
