Hi, I'm looking to buy kallistra hex terrain and would like to represent villages and towns for ww1 in some way but not sure how. I'm looking forward to the new release of c and c ww1 and will be using 15mm figures. The buildings don't have to be 15mm in size as that would mean only one building per tile. What do you guys use to represent villages and towns with 15mm miniatures? Any help with pictures etc of what you have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Chris

A lot of people I know use these buildings with 15mm figures:

Kallistra hexes are 100mm (4") from flat side to flat side, so small 15mm and small 10mm buildings can fit in the hexes, but you will need to ensure that there is also enough room to a get a unit in there as well.

Kallistra do a very nice trench system, but I am guessing that you would not want too much of a mismatch between the building size and trench system.

If you have a look at the kallistra site, I think they have some video footage of a WWI game, which would show their layout.

I place buildings in the town hexes at the start of the game. However, once a unit enters a town hex I replace the buildings with an enlarged photocopy of the hex tile from the game.

I have just been looking at timecast and they have some nice 10mm bombed and damaged buildings, just wondering if they might do for kallistra tiles whilst still allowing some room for miniatures?

Thanks for your help so far.

paperterrain.com
has building sets for Europe that contain both ruined and undamaged buildings in different scales.

I either use the wooden buildings above, or various 6mm buildings. The Timecast one's are very nice. They look fine with 15s.

The 10mm buildings are relatively huge in comparison.

Wooden buildings and Hexon, not even dwarfed by the mighty Peter Pig Panthers.

and a rather blurry picture of PSC T34s and IS-IIs parked next to some Timecast 6mm buildings.
